HOW TO GET HERE?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions, so we will try to help you as much as possible to organize an easy and pleasant trip to Vitosha!

🚗 By Car

You can reach the mountain by car via the roads through the Dragalevtsi and Boyana districts. Depending on your chosen location, the drive takes about 20-30 minutes. Please note that during weekends and public holidays in the winter season, car access to the mountain is restricted from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM! Currently, there is no information regarding restrictions for the Summer 2025 season.

📍 To Vitoshko Lale

You can reach the bottom station of the Vitoshko Lale chairlift (the starting point to the summit) by car, where a large free parking lot awaits you. View the exact location here

🚌 Public Bus Transport

Every day, there are three public bus lines serving Vitosha. Most of the buses are equipped with bike racks and/or racks for ski/snowboard equipment and sledges.

- Bus Number 66 - Route: Sofia Zoo, through Dragalevtsi district, to Moreni Hotel.

- Bus Number 61 - Route: NDK (National Palace of Culture), through Boyana district, to Zlatnite Mostove (Golden Bridges).

- Bus Number 63 - Route: Tsar Boris III Blvd, through Boyana district, to Zlatnite Mostove (Golden Bridges).

If you want to reach the Aleko area and the Vitoshko Lale 1 or 2 lifts via Bus 66, you should get off at:

- "Aleko" stop: (NEW!) Starting this year, the final stop of Bus 66 is located right next to Aleko Hut! From there, you have two options to access the lifts:

1/ To reach the starting station of the Vitoshko Lale 2 lift, take a 20-30 minute walk with a short climb up the Vitoshko Lale slope.

2/ To reach the starting station of the Vitoshko Lale 1 lift, take a pleasant walk towards Prostor Hotel and the starting station of the Romanski lift. From there, turn right onto the path leading to the bottom station of Lale 1, better known as the "Devil's Path" (Dyavolska Pateka). The walk takes about 30-40 minutes.

- "Vitoshko Lale" stop: This is an optional stop (on request), so you must inform the driver. From there, it is a 15-20 minute walk along a shaded asphalt road (approx. 1 km) or along the cross-country skiing track, which in summer serves as a pleasant educational sports route for all ages.

- "Romanski" stop: This is an optional stop (on request), so you must inform the driver. From there, it is a 20-30 minute walk downhill along a forest hiking route, also known as the "Devil's Path". Please note that in winter, moving along this path can be difficult.
